Lorom came to us with their brand new product; the most flexible data cable in the world. They asked us to come up with an innovative name for it, along with a dynamic logo and brochures. We put our heads together and came up with the name noodl® (noodle without the ‘e’).
Noodles are a thin, bendy, internationally recognized food that originated in China – now common all over the world. This perfectly reflected the specifications of Lorom’s new flexible cable. We left the ‘e’ off the end to make it a trendy new word, which Lorom loved. noodl® is now a globally registered trademark. Next was to make the branding for it, with a logo and colour scheme to stand out against the competition. After experimenting with bendy shapes and forms, we came up with a simple, rounded, type-based logo with a looping infinity symbol to represent the ‘oo’ in the middle of the word.
This was a fitting representation of the cable’s flexibility, longevity and versatility. We made it a cool grey colour, too. We then needed to design a brochure to show off the capabilities and features of the noodl®. The brochure had to look as fresh and modern as the logo (and the cable itself of course) so we utilized the cool grey colour scheme throughout, keeping each page as clean and simple as possible. You can view the whole brochure online here. The result? noodl® has been very well received in the tech world, with some very big brand names testing it in their data centres.
