Babyshoes has been a customer since 2011 and over the years we’ve worked with they guys to add Ebay integration, make a dedicated mobile store and a few other tweaks.
Each tweak and new design had been successful, but with the latest redesign we wanted to build on what we knew was working from the data we had.
Making the site mobile friendly was very important as the majority of traffic came from mobile users. We had set up separate desktop and mobile sites but we wanted to make it easier for Babyshoes to manage and future proof the site based on Google’s recommendations. So the new design is responsive, it doesn’t matter what you’re using to view the site it will still look awesome.
Babyshoes’ customers are often repeat purchasers and Babyshoes wanted to do something to reward that loyalty. We integrated a points system, similar to what you have with a Tesco Clubcard. Each time you purchase you get points and once you get over a certain number you can redeem them to get money off your next purchase. Babyshoes have full control over how much points are worth, how many are given out per purchase and when they can be redeemed.
Magento has a built in review system, but there’s no mechanism to canvas purchasers to come back and leave a review. Even if they did, you can’t use the reviews in Google listings and Adwords. Integrating Feefo takes care of this. Orders are automatically (and securely) uploaded to the Feefo system and Feefo send out emails to customers. They rate the service they’ve received and the quality of the product. We are then able to show this rating and the reviews on the website and product pages. Rich snippets also mean we can use the ratings in Adwords and Google Shopping.
Babyshoes’ service is so good they have recently been awarded a Feefo Trusted Merchant accreditation, which means they consistently get a Service Rating of between 95% and 100%.
Other changes to the website make it easier and quicker for the customer to checkout and we’re in the process of moving their payment facilities over as part of our partnership with Barclays.
We love the new design and functionality, but get in touch and let us know what you think.
