February half term saw the first of many football camps we have planned for 2020 with our friends at Everton Soccer Schools and The James Greenop Foundation. We were all a little on edge as Storm Dennis looked as if he was gearing up to ruin the fun but a few extra layers and we were out and having lots of fun on the pitch!
Yet again an amazing turn out for both days of the camp, with boys and girls coming from across the Northwest to enjoy some expert coaching and play football. The camps follow the FA four corner model, encompassing the four key attributes that are vital for any developing young footballer. The first day began with the children playing small sided games teaching skills such as; passing, shooting, defending and working together as a team. The groups were rotated throughout the morning to make sure everyone got a chance to learn every skill. The afternoon came and we put those skills to the test with some short games in preparation for the second day which was all about… tournaments!
Day two kicked off with games to test the skills the kids had learned on the first day… could they hit top bins, pass, move and dribble like the pros?
Tornado and The James Greenop Foundation are very passionate to run these camps and give children opportunities to get active, learn new skills and make new friends. We are both very proud of these camps and the impact they are making to many children’s confidence and development, both in football and personally.
We would like to thank Everton in The Community for partnering with us yet again on another amazing camp! The coaches from Everton Soccer Schools are amazing, and the feedback we get from the kids and parents is great to see.
Our next camp is running 6th and 7th April 2020, to sign your kids up use the following link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/everton-soccer-schools-prescot-tickets-93512517457
